Baby Sleep FAQs

What are wake windows?

Wake windows are the periods of time your baby can comfortably stay awake between sleep sessions. Keeping baby awake too long leads to overtiredness, which paradoxically makes it harder for them to fall and stay asleep. Wake windows increase as babies grow.

Why won't my baby sleep in the bassinet?

Many babies prefer being held because it mimics the womb. Try warming the bassinet before putting baby down, using white noise, and placing baby down drowsy but awake. Our complete guide covers 7 proven solutions.

When do babies sleep through the night?

Most babies are physically capable of sleeping 6+ hour stretches by 3-4 months, but many don't consistently sleep through the night until 6-12 months. Every baby is different - some do it earlier, some later.

Is it normal for my baby to wake at night?

Yes! Night waking is biologically normal for babies. They have shorter sleep cycles than adults and may wake for feeding, comfort, or due to developmental changes. Gradual improvements typically happen over the first year.
